That brings me to my latest find, Joia. A five piece, female fronted alt pop rock band that formed last year and quickly making their impression amongst the UK's hottest small venues. The band are set to release their debut four track EP titled 'Match Light' (that is available for free via their Facebook page) on July 16th, with a launch event at London's Bull & Gate on the 16th.
Not only does this band have some major talent, with two ridiculously catchy songs already on YouTube - I've had 'Match Light' stuck in my head for about a week straight now- I think I may officially have found a new style crush/major hair envy in the form of lead singer Athina Andrelos - how can anyone's hair be that luscious and shiny?!
Definitely a band to check out, with 'Match Light' due for release on July 16th!
