The perfect fairytale shoes!

Finally, my dreams of being a fairytale Princess are that much closer now, all thanks to Christian Louboutin.

Of course, I am referring to Christian Louboutin's latest stunning collaboration, bringing the Cinderella slipper to real life this week in Paris. The Disney collaboration coincides perfectly with the worldwide release of the Diamond Edition Cinderella on Blu-ray, that is expected this Autumn. The collaboration was announced in April this year, due to be released alongside the worldwide Diamond edition of Cinderella that is expected this Autumn.

The Cinderella heel captures the true magic of the classic Disney film perfectly with delicate white lace, crystal embellishments and butterflies, enough to make any girl feel like a true Princess.

For about 14 years Cinderella was my ultimate Disney movie, the perfect fairytale of rags-to-riches. Hence why I could barely contain my excitement at the news of these absolutely perfect shoes!

Henry Holland flatforms? My dreams have come true!

If it wasn't already clear, this season I am all about the flatform. And for a few years, I've been all about Henry Holland. It started with a black Blackberry cover with an ear on my Blackberry sported for a year, obsession over his 'Boner' t-shirts, and now my love just keeps growing.

Hence why, when I came across Henry's latest collaboration with Superga, a new take on the fashion trainer, I fell in love.

The Superga 2790 is a fun twist on the classic trainer, with different coloured polka dot prints, the House of Holland name along the flat form and bright prints, Henry's latest venture is ticking all the right boxes. A little bit of reckless shoe shopping

To put it simply, I'm a bit of a wimp. Even when it comes to heels. In fact, especially when it comes to wearing heels. Which is why, as I've blogged about before, the flatform is a total saving grace to me. An up-to-date stylish alternative to sky scraper heels my friends sport on nights out, Jeffrey Campbells being a keen favourite - I tried a pair of my friends on and I swear I could barely make it to the mirror without falling face over...well you get the picture! I definitely get the Jeffrey Campbell obsession, they are beautiful but ridiculous shoes that every other girl seems to adorn with minimal effort and style. (I was clinging to walls/doors/anything sturdy.) 

All that changed when these Jeffrey Campbell flatforms caught my eye on the Office website. With a manageable 5.5 cm flatform and simple black suede style, The Jeffrey Campbell BeeBee is definitely for me.

All about the Flatform...

My first year of university made me, in basic terms, much more adventurous. My taste in shoes was one of the best advances, I have to say. A few months ago I found myself falling in love with a pair of aztec print sling back flatforms. They are amaaaazing. I'm now on the hunt for another pair for summer, with my four favourites being these beauties.

One of my "secrets"

Secret no# 1.

This blog post feels kind of like alcoholics anonymous. I have a problem. And according to AA, the first step is admitting to your problem, so here goes. I have a shoe addiction. And not just a teenage girl, “ooh I love high heels” kind of “addiction”, I mean every kind of shoe (well, except for Crocs…I draw the line at Crocs, they should all be set fire to.) 

This problem has, as far as I’m aware always been around, from strutting around in my mum’s only pair of high heels when I was little (her wedding shoes in fact, some classic white courts with a pointed toe – so gorgeous!) to today, where I find myself with an impressive amount of shoes to my name that I deem too precious to even leave the house in.

So there we go, I admitted it. But I’m not really sure I’m willing to get over this problem. I did manage to calm down, the student lifestyle kept me admiring from a far for the first time, until the January sales. January sales are like a fashion girls paradise, where beautiful pieces are like gold dust just waiting to be found.  And that’s when they hit me. Casually thrown to the side of the seating area in New Look, some black platform cut out stilettos with a chunky heel. I love a chunky heel. Sigh. And they were in the sale for less than £15.Sigh. And…oh my…. they’re my size. If I ever believed in fate, this was the time. It was a magical moment when I slipped them on, to have them fit perfectly. A complete Cinderella moment in the busy aisles of New Look’s shoe department. I had to have them.

It’s been over a week since my addiction was quenched and much to the dismay of my feet, I’ve been wearing these heels every chance I can get. Drinks with the girls, dancing to Beyoncé in my room, even to Tesco to buy butter. New shoes, as Paolo Nutini sang suddenly make everything right. 

 And of course, I had to show you the shoes.
